Ice Out Salmon
went out around 10am today. was beautiful out, clear skys and the bightest sun ive felt in months. Still a thin layer of ice on the pond from the night before but we found a nice cove clear of the ice. Anchored up in about 12 feet of water an threw out 2 rods with shiners, one under a bobber and one swimming freely. Then threw out two more rods which had chartruse powerbait on the bottom. After about and hour of soaking up the sun the first and only fish of the day a 5lb broodstock salmon. Great opening day and looking forward to an awsome season!
