Hit Black Pond for a couple hours (3:30-5:30). Fished for trout the first hour. Caught only Blue gills, so then switched to bass fishing. I tried the black buzz bait, minus one, rapala crank bait (4' diver), and the big foot frog on the lilly pads. Had one follow, but no bites at all before wrapping it up. Took some pictures of the pond for anyone interested. Wish I had more to report.

Went to Pittsburg, NH a couple summers ago. I didn't do much fishing, but was able to get quite a few nice scenerey & wildlife pics. Here's some of them.

Not much to report, but here goes. Fished Union pond in Manchester after work today for about an hour. Only had 1 rod with only a buzz bait attached. (left my tackle box at home by mistake earlier). Never fished here before, but looks like a nice small pond. Fished from shore, but would like to take out the canoe sometime. Only 1 bass to show for my efforts, but it was more of an exploratory mission today.

Camped & fished at Benedict Pond in Beartown State Forest (Monterey, MA) in mid August. My daughter caught countless sunfish and a couple yellow perch. I caught 4 bass a few pickerel a couple yellow perch and a few sunnies. All the bass & pickerel were caught on a black buzz bait. Had one day of sun & a few cloudy/overcast days. Fished mainly out of canoe & a little right from our campsite. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to camp/fish pondside. Pond is about 30 acres (my best guesstimate).

Hit Black Pond in Meriden/Middlefield this afternoon for a couple hours from shore. Only 3 small bass to show for it. Forgot the camera, but the fish weren't picture worthy anyways. All fish caught on black buzz bait (my personal favorite).

Decided to check out the Thames River at Norwich Harbor. I have heard the Blue's were biting as of late. Got there around 5:30 and could only stay for a couple hours. I had packed light and only had Sluggo's with me and my heavy duty fresh water rod. Needless to say the Blue's were not biting while I was there. No fish were caught. There were a few other people fishing live bait (bunker) and they were not catching anything either. The bunker were definitely in the harbor, surfacing all over the place. Even though I didn't catch anything, it was still worth the trip (about 50 minutes for me). I mainly wanted to check out the harbor as I had never been before. The fishing from Dec-Feb. is supposed to be good for schoolie stripers.

Not alot to report- fished for about 2 1/2 hours. Got SKUNKED. Wind was fairly strong & tossed the canoe all over the place. Tried buzz baits, frogs, baby minus 1, & Rapala DT10 crank bait. Water level is extremely low. Most of the usual lay downs, are now on dry land.

Fished for only about an hour. I had a few bass on the day. Nothing large. All 1 to 1.5 pounders.

I hit Mattabesset River in Middletown, CT on Monday 9/10. Got on the river about 9:00 & fished until about 3:00. Tried the buzz bait & minus 1 for a few hours - not a sniff. Then I came up to an area of the River that was alot wider and had many patches of lilly pads mixed in with just plain slop (not really sure what to call it, but it was pretty thick). I decided to give the frog a try. I'm glad I did. 1st cast I had a blow up on it, but I tried to set the hook too quickly & missed. I gave myself the speech ("wait a few seconds & don't set the hook until you feel the weight of the fish"). After about a 1/2 dozen more casts another hits the frog, not a big blowup, but I was able to set the hook. Nothing to write home about- (approx 1- 1.5 lbs), but my very first frog fish none-the less.

I missed a few more & landed a few more also. The last fish, however swallowed the frog completely (gut hooked). There was no way I was getting that hook out so I removed as much of the frog & rubber skirt as I could and released the fish. Chances are he won't make it , but I didn't want to kill him by trying to rip the hook out. Any suggestions on what I could have done, if anything?

Not a huge production day, or size day, but I'm still learning more everytime I go out.
