6/14/14 - MA B.A.S.S. Pro-Am @ Monponsett
3rd of 4 tournaments for this trail this year. I've never fished either East or West. This set-up was a little different than the normal. A permit was pulled for both lakes. The boaters choose what side they wanted to fish. 11 boat on the East, and 7 to the West. I drew Eric, and he was on the East. We mostly fished an expansive grass flat in the 4-7 foot range. The bite was tough, lots of panfish actively chasing, and hitting our baits. Probably caught 20 Calico, on spinnerbaits, cranks, jigs, and worms. Some big Pickerel mixed in too. I should have done better today, but my execution wasn't up to par. I lost 2 quality fish that would have put me at least in the top 4. A 3lber spit the jig on a jump, and a 2-1/2lber came unbuttoned on a spinnerbait. I scraped together 2 fish for 3.31lbs for 13th place (Goodbye to 2nd place overall). My boater had 3rd place 13.63lbs anchored with a nice 5+lber. Winning on the Co-angler side was 11.83lbs. On the boaters side a whopping 21.37lbs including 6.41lb lunker took the win! Still motivated to be better every time I'm on the water, and today was one of those learn rom your mistakes days.
