5/28/11 - Webster Lake - Webster, MA
Got out for a day of fun fishing with Vinny at one of my favorite places to wet a line. We put in about a 10 hour day on the water. Launched the boat at 6am with a slight mist in the air, temp about 65 degrees, and overcast. Sun finally broke through around 9:30am, and wind kicked up in the afternoon. Water temp was 70, and by the end of our outing it had risen to 74-75 degrees.
The bite started slow, and alot short biting our baits. But as the day warmed the fish definately got more aggressive. We did find Bass on beds, though is looks as the lake is in a spawn/post spawn stage. We caught alot of fish today, but never found the bigger ones. And because of the size of the lake, we maybe only could cover 30% of it. Most of our Bass were in the 1-1/4lb 1-1/2lb range. Vinny finished the day with 15 Largemouth, a little 12" Pike with a fat belly, his best 5 Bass were about 7lbs. I finished up with another 15 Largemouth as well(my biggest 2 were 2lbs 5oz, and 1lb 14oz), two 1lb Smallmouth, and a Pickerel. My Best 5 Bass went about 8 lbs, and combined limit we would have been about 9 to 9-1/2lb, which is only average for Webster. But still a great day, with a good friend, on a beautiful lake, I take that any day.
